Matching of Wilson loop eigenvalue densities in 1+1, 2+1 and 3+1 dimensions
We investigate the matching of eigenvalue densities of Wilson loops in SU(N) lattice gauge theory: the eigenvalue densities in 1+1, 2+1 and 3+1 dimensions are nearly identical when the traces of the loops are equal. We show that the matching is present to at least second order in the strong–coupling expansion, and also to second order in perturbation theory. We find that in the continuum limit ...
متن کاملTwo-loop matching conditions for MS parton densities
We discuss how the the operator product expansion (OPE) can be used to derive asymptotic expressions for certain integrals. This yields operator matrix elements (OME’s) which determine the matching conditions for MS parton densities across heavy flavour thresholds. Then we construct four and five-flavour densities from a three-flavour set via the evolution of the AP equation using LO and NLO sp...
متن کاملMatching the circular Wilson loop with dual open string solution at 1-loop in strong coupling
We compute the 1-loop correction to the effective action for the string solution in AdS5 × S5 dual to the circular Wilson loop. More generically, the method we use can be applied whenever the two dimensional spectral problem factorizes, to regularize and define the fluctuation determinants in terms of solutions of one-dimensional differential equations. A such it can be applied to non-homogeneo...
متن کاملMeasurability of Wilson loop operators
We show that the nondemolition measurement of a spacelike Wilson loop operator W(C) is impossible in a relativistic non-Abelian gauge theory. In particular, if two spacelike-separated magnetic flux tubes both link with the loop C, then a nondemolition measurement of W(C) would cause electric charge to be transferred from one flux tube to the other, a violation of relativistic causality. A destr...
متن کاملBMN Operators from Wilson Loop
We show that the BMN operators arise from the expansion of the Wilson loop in four-dimensional N = 4 super Yang-Mills theory. The Wilson loop we consider is obtained from “dimensional reduction” of ten-dimensional N = 1 super YangMills theory, and it contains six scalar fields as well as the gauge field. We expand the Wilson loop twice. First we expand it in powers of the fluctuations around a ...
